Information on 1940 Oldsmobile vehicles

The year 1940 was a very memorable one in America. It was the year that McDonald's opened its first restaurant. Iconic cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny, Pinocchio, Elmer Fudd and Tom and Jerry made their debut. In addition, Leave it to Beaver, one of America's most beloved television shows first aired during the year 1940.

The year 1940 was also a good one for the Oldsmobile Company. As a very reputable division of General Motors, Oldsmobile was always a very innovative car company right up until the last Oldsmobile rolled off the assembly line in 2004. The year of 1940 was a very grand one in the history of the Oldsmobile car company. It manufactured three different car models that year. The following is a short description of each of these iconic cars.

The Oldsmobile 60 was the budget friendly model of the 1940 collection. It was much longer in length than the models produced previously. It was available as a regular passenger vehicle or an extended station wagon with three seats, four doors and plenty of space for camping equipment and storage.

The Oldsmobile 70 was considered to be a mid-range 1940 Oldsmobile. It was available as a two door, four door, convertible, club model and a business coup. It had a standard wheelbase of 120 inches, but the length of the Oldsmobile 70 was based upon the body style purchased.

The Oldsmobile 90 was the top of the line of the 1940 Oldsmobile collection. It was the biggest in size. This particular car was also memorable because its first production was the 1 millionth car made by the Oldsmobile Company. The Oldsmobile 90 was a very extravagant two door sedan with a blacked-out rear window.
